Rio Bravo-Greeley Union School District provides a vast number of services and programs meeting the needs of students eligible for Special Education services. Along with services for TK-8th grade the district offers a moderate/severe program spanning preschool through 4th grade. All students will have access to a broad course of study including, but not limited to, their grade level appropriate CORE curriculum. The program is to include and be articulated through each individualized educational plan, general education and mainstream integration along with services rendered.
The Least Restrictive Environment is a principle that guides students’ educational program meaning they should spend as much time as possible with general education peers to the, “maximum extent that is appropriate.”
The district’s Special Education Team includes Counselor, Highly Qualified Special Education Teachers, Instructional Assistants, Nurse, School Psychologist, Speech & Language Pathologists, and other related service providers.
Parents who believe their children are in need of additional services should begin with speaking with their teachers and school site administrators. Team members can assist with recommending appropriate Student Study Teams, services and modifications beginning in the Least Restrictive Environment, the general education setting.
